The end of duty-free small parcels
For years, low-value parcels entered the US duty-free under the de minimis rule. That ended for parcels from all countries on 29 August 2025, as CBP's fact sheet sets out. For Hacoo and agent buyers, the practical effect is that a small parcel can now carry duties, and someone has to pay them: the platform at checkout, the shipping line upfront, or you at the door through the carrier. Duty-paid lines
A delivered-duty-paid (DDP) line builds duties into the shipping price, so nothing is due at your door. Since de minimis ended, it's the line type most US agent buyers should look for. Returns and choosing a route
Hacoo's 15-day return window after delivery applies in the US too, but postage back can be expensive for change-of-mind returns. Agent orders are checked in the warehouse before shipping, which suits buyers far from the seller. What changed for US parcels in 2025?
According to US Customs and Border Protection, duty-free de minimis treatment for low-value shipments was suspended for all countries from 29 August 2025. Before that, many parcels under $800 entered without duty. Now duties can apply to small parcels too, collected by the carrier, the platform at checkout, or through a duty-paid shipping line, depending on how the goods are sent.
How long does Hacoo take to deliver to the US?
Hacoo's shipping page names fast delivery windows only for the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain; other countries are quoted at 25–65 days after 3–5 business days of processing, and express at 5–7 workdays where offered. Check the estimate the app shows for your US address before ordering, since it may differ from the general range.
What is a DDP line and why does it matter now?
DDP means delivered duty paid: the shipper calculates and pays import duties before the parcel arrives, and you pay them upfront in the shipping price. Since de minimis ended, DDP lines avoid unexpected bills from the carrier at delivery. Several agents offer US duty-prepaid lines; KakoBuy, for example, lists US and EU duty-prepaid routes, according to rep.tools.

Can US buyers still return Hacoo items?
Hacoo's policy allows returns within 15 days of delivery, with Hacoo covering postage for faulty or wrong items and the buyer paying for change-of-mind returns. From the US, return postage to Hacoo's address can be a large share of a cheap item's price. Measuring carefully before ordering saves more money than relying on returns.
